Playa Capistrano Enterprises’ owner Mike Miller, and co-author Ed Alegre designed, developed and wrote the Commercial Real Estate Leasing and Sales Guides. These products are designed to provide systematic and focused instruction and implementation tools for the fast moving, demanding and highly rewarding commercial real estate industry.
The Beginnings of PCE Guides
Mike and Ed started the PCE Guides project out of sheer frustration when trying to find quality materials to train new associates in the cognitive (as opposed to sales) skills required to succeed in the commercial real estate brokerage business. As it became obvious that no such resources existed, they were encouraged by many people to create something new and truly useful. PCE’s Commercial Real Estate Leasing Guide and Commercial Real Estate Sales Guide are the result of years of experience and industry insights.
About the Authors
Michael H. Miller is the Principal of Playa Capistrano Enterprises and co-author of the PCE Leasing and Sales Guides. He is a senior commercial real estate executive with over 30 years of experience in corporate real estate services, consulting and brokerage. As Executive Director of CB Richard Ellis during 1996-2000, he developed and maintained the company’s infrastructure for providing multi-market transaction and lease administration services to corporate clients throughout North America. Prior to that, Mr. Miller was responsible for all operations of CB’s Consulting Services nationwide, and later, CB’s Corporate Services Division in the Western United States. Mr. Miller was an instructor at CBU, the educational and training division of CB Richard Ellis. Mr. Miller holds an MBA degree from UCLA. He also holds the Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) designation.
Eduardo E. Alegre is a co-author of the PCE Leasing and Sales Guides. He has been actively involved in the commercial real estate industry since 1982, when he started his career with Coldwell Banker Commercial. In 1995, he was appointed Managing Director of CB Richard Ellis’ Miami office. In his role as Managing Director, he developed training courses for new salespeople, experienced professionals and support employees. In 1999, he created the South Florida Corporate Services team, implementing and delivering a wide range of services, including Consultation, Strategic Planning, Merger & Acquisitions Strategies, and Transaction Management, to corporate clients, in addition to traditional brokerage services. Mr. Alegre is a UCLA graduate, a licensed California real estate broker, and a licensed Florida broker. He is a Member of the Appraisal Institute and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is currently the President of Valuation and Advisory Services at Colliers International.
